Talk Overview
This talk examines consumer recycling behavior and closed-loop supply chain management under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations. It explores how economic incentives, recycling convenience, and behavioral factors such as pride and guilt influence consumers’ recycling decisions, and how firms can adapt their pricing, recycling incentives, and consumer engagement strategies as EPR requirements become increasingly stringent. Drawing on examples including smartphone and electric vehicle battery recycling, the talk highlights how firms and policymakers can combine economic and behavioral approaches to advance the circular economy.
